Bringing a Cultural Landmark to Life
The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America – Pueblo, CO
Peaks to Plains Government Relations played a pivotal role in unlocking one of the most transformative cultural projects Pueblo has seen in decades. After a year of delays and political gridlock, we helped the museum’s founder and board secure access to a $20 million publicly owned building—one of the most beautiful and iconic sites along the Pueblo Riverwalk. The museum is now on track to open by December 2025, creating a lasting anchor for arts, culture, and tourism in Southern Colorado.
The vision for this museum always existed. What we did was help align the right people and the right opportunities to move it forward. The founder and his board brought their deep community ties and strong local engagement to the table—and we worked alongside them to build momentum. Together, we leveraged support from the Mayor of Pueblo, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), the Colorado Economic Development Commission and Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority. We rallied key community leaders to demonstrate support, while strategically securing media coverage—including special TV features—about the site and its opportunities. This resulted in widespread news coverage on every local TV station, local newspapers, including Denver media outlets.
Pueblo is a community in need of major economic drivers—and this museum will serve as just that. It will attract visitors, generate year-round activity along the Riverwalk, and create new opportunities for education, jobs, and cultural tourism. While Pueblo is already home to several important institutions, the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America stands to become a true showcase for the region: a top-tier destination that reflects Pueblo’s potential on a national and even international stage.
By helping turn their vision into reality, Peaks to Plains ensured this project received the visibility, political traction, and community backing needed to become a cultural institution with staying power.
